This workshop is taught by Lisa Lanteigne, HR Licensing Specialist in the Lawrence Public Schools.

We will review the basics and philosophy of yoga, including the origin and history to develop a complete understanding of the content.

The most common yoga poses for children will be introduced as well as guided meditations and mindfulness techniques.

The inclusion of students into educational environments will be highlighted.

Topics include: History of special education and inclusion, laws which govern inclusion, IDEA and the integration of students with disabilities, family concerns and challenges, current and future trends and best practices, specific disability exploration and knowledge through readings, documentaries and analysis, best practices in Universal Design for Instruction for students with disabilities with diverse learning styles and supporting the success.
