I run as fast as my feet can carry me toward what my body sees as Utopia, a seemingly endless pool of crystal blue water. The shock of the frigid water takes my breath away and I am momentarily stunned. However, I quickly recover; finding my body adjusts rapidly to the cold water. My closest friend Ashley has made a significant ...
As I stroll along I can feel the soft smooth sand beneath my feet.
I am taken in by the soothing atmosphere that encircles me.
Walking farther down the shore my body gets consumed with cold chills as the texture of the grainy, wet sand squishes between my toes.
The wind blows softly and tousles my hair away from my face.
A place where nothing matters but what is in that little moment. Just as I sit down on the sand my mind starts to unwind. As far as I can see there is turquoise water in front of me.
The one place capable of sending my senses into an overload. Surfers wearing their bright colored suits grab their boards and head for the unknown. Looking farther out, I see dolphins peak out of the water. My neighborhood is composed of the towns of Shirley, Mastic and Mastic Beach. Some outsiders consider my town, Shirley, Mastic and Mastic Beach pretty bad. At the southern end of William Floyd parkway is Smith Point beach which hosts many activities such as nature walks, camping, swimming and dining. Also hidden in Mastic Beach is the Poospatuck Indian reservation off of Pawnee St. Home sweet home is what I call Shirley, Mastic and Mastic Beach.... Everything from the people I met, to the place we stayed, to the boardwalk and the beach made this experience unforgettable. It was rare that we found time to go on the beach, but we did go on the boardwalk almost every night. The first section of this essay is Rock n' Roll of the 1950's, when Rock n' Roll was born. The place where I feel most comfortable is a place where I am calm. It is the place to go to get away from all my troubles.Descriptive Essay Everyone has an amazing vacation that will never seem to forget. It is the one place where I could sit forever, and never get tired of just staring into the deepest blue I have ever seen. A visit to the beach is one of life's greatest pleasures. I hear the crash of waves braking over the soft pearly sand of the beach. Unfortunately here's what usually happens: I'm lying on the beach, on a towel, on a semi-crowded beach. The shorts I wear acquire a distinctive, beach-aged look with stains of sweat, suntan lotion, and cola mixed with sand and seawater. I am on this beautiful beach but its jus not the same place I imagined visiting in the dark days of cold winter....I close my eyes, letting myself absorb the blistering rays of the sun on a scorching summer day.I am comforted by the sounds of the ocean; the rhythmic pounding of the waves represses all of my worries. As I sit in my chair I can see all the sights of summer; children building sand castles along the oceans edge, to my right I observe an elderly couple indulged in a good book.I am soon at the point where my skin can no longer take the harsh rays of the blistering summer sun.I look into the cloudless cerulean blue sky and see the perfection of life.I often want to be like a seagull, seemingly drifting endlessly in the wind without a care in the world.Couples decorated in their beach attire briskly pace in front of me.I cannot help but to wonder what their rush could be.
