They start to feel unwanted because they do not have a father that is actively present in their lives.

They see how other families, particularly Caucasian families, who have both parents in the home.

For example, a woman might read a book and cuddle with them where as a man might rough house and wrestle with them.

In order for children to grow up healthey they need both a male and female perspective.

Financial responsibility is always a big issue in single parent households.

You may or may not always receive child support payments.

Children might think of themselves as lesser, or not as good as those who do.

This causes repressed anger and resentment towards their father.

Simply put, everything that the single-parent household does not have. Similarly, the child may suffer socially by falling in with the wrong crowd at school to make up for the lack of attention experienced at home.

Again, this is not to indicate that automatically a single parent home is worse than a two-parent home. Both parent and child might find themselves feeling socially isolated because of the unique pressures of single parenting. The costs of childrearing are often too difficult for two parents, let alone for one.
