Per Jackson did not have the characteristics of a great president.

First of all, he was notorious for being to rash and impetuous.

However, Jackson brought with him many new ideas and principles.

Since he himself had very modest roots, he sympathized with the middle and lower classes.

“I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.

President Andrew Jackson said these words in his Presidential Oath of Office.

But contrary to belief, he did not preserve, protect, or defend the United States at all during his presidency. Andrew Jackson’s decisions he made as President went against his presidential oath.

President Andrew Jackson was president from March 4th 1829 to March 4th 1837. He was a military governor for the state of Florida, a senator from Tennessee, and member of the U. He did not protect, preserve or defend the United States.

Jackson put forth such backing to see the defeat of Jackson's old enemy, Clay. His grandfather, Hugh Jackson, had been a linen-draper.

At age 13 Andrew joined the local militia and served as a courier during the Revolutionary War. During this battle, Andrew and Robert were captured by the British while in captivity Robert Jackson caught smallpox later that year he never recover, not long after his death Andrews mother died of Cholera in November of 1779, Andrew Jackson was then orphaned and later adopted by his uncle at age 14.
